Coaches

Director and Head Coach Nicholas Skelton (Coach Nick) has been a student of the game throughout most of his life. Growing up in east Texas, Coach Nick was limited to the amount of exposure he had to hockey. It wasn’t until he moved with his family to Kansas where he starting exploring more of the game he grew to love. When Coach Nick was 17 he moved back to Texas and started working in the hockey industry. By the time Coach Nick was 21 he had already started coaching in the house leagues around Fort Worth, TX. Over the next 19 years Coach Nick would progress from an assistant coach to a head coach in house, high school and travels leagues in Texas, Colorado, Florida and Alabama. Coach Nick prides himself on being able to develop players to the their full potential through specific training drills, allowing players to think out of the box, challenging them to hold themselves accountable and allowing them to see their team mates as well as their personal goals achieved.

 

Graduate of Tarleton State University (2003) with Bachelors in Exercise and Sports Studies with emphasis in Sports Medicine and Sports Management. He holds a USA Hockey Level 5 (2016) and helps instructs CEP Clinics in the South East Region. Coach Nick is also a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (Adult Echo) with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

 

In his spare time, Coach Nick enjoys working out, relaxing on the beach, talking with friends, seeing movies and of course cheering on the Dallas Stars and the United States Mens National Soccer Team (USMNT).
